Về Yên Dũng thưởng thức đặc sản cua Da

If you have the opportunity to return to Yen Dung, Bac Giang in the beginning of the winter, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy Da crab, a rare and special dish of Yen Dung. Every year in the wind, around September and October of the lunar calendar is the time of Da crab, a type of crab living in rocky rapids in the Cau river section running through the territory of some riverside communes of Yen Dung district such as: Dong Viet, Dong Phuc, Yen Lu, Thang Cuong ...

I am also one of the lucky people to have had the opportunity to enjoy Da crab twice. It must be said that it was lucky because if this crab had not been of much value in the past, it would now become a specialty, an expensive dish that every season many people desire and hunt. If you want to buy Da crab, customers must book in advance, telling those who specialize in catching. Because with this kind of specialties, people only need to take the net to buy it immediately, it is not easy to find at the market, and people in the area don't dare to eat it because they feel sorry, eating a pound of crabs will cost hundreds of thousands. If in the main season, each trader buys directly from the boat with the price of 250,000-300,000 VND, the price of this restaurant will be doubled and tripled. Bigger crabs are more expensive, the size of about 10 / kg and the average type of 15-20 / kg.

According to Nguyen Thi Huong, a Yen Lu son who has been engaged in fishing in the river for a long time, said this crab only appears in the last two months of the year, when the weather is cold. Crabs often live on rocky rapids at the bottom of the river. If they want to catch them, they must catch fish nets at night, using trigrams nets with special shapes to catch crabs. The short appearance time of the crab plus the difficult fishing, the quantity is not so much, making this dish become more expensive. Asked about the name of this species, Ms. Huong smiled and said: It is not wrong to call "Da crab". Whoever called it would explain. People call it "Da crab" because this crab has a coat of fur on its legs, claws and overalls, it is like a protective skin. Someone called it "Crab Out" because of its adage "September out, March out." Many people call it "Gia gia", simply because it makes more sense to call it like that. But people in this area are more often used to call it "crab da". Whoever calls it does not matter, it is important that the rich, delicious taste of this crab dish, unlike crabs, is also different from sea crabs.

Da crab can be processed into many dishes such as steaming beer, roasting salt, cooking soup ... But for me, the best crab is still steaming beer, both simple and preserving the sweetness of the crab meat. The fresh crabs are washed with water, put in a pot, add a little soup powder, ginger, discharge, pour beer to invade the crab, put on a small stove to simmer until the beer boils. Come on, hug the whole crab pot. When ripe crabs have an attractive orange color. Sweet crab meat, soft legs and crabs, when eaten without the use of tongs like sea crabs. Eating crab with regular Sauce with a little chili sauce is enough, but for gourmets, it is usually dipped with mustard soup mixed with half a lemon. Eating Da crab with a little wine cooked in Yen Dung is an elegant and extremely interesting hobby. In addition, Da crab is also processed as a crab soup. Grind or crushed crabs for water, Crab meat is fried with fragrant onion and dried tomatoes and then poured in a pot of boiling water for effervescence for a while and then served with noodles and raw vegetables. The sweetness of the crabs mingled with the aroma of onion mixed with the greasy texture of the fat, making a strange and attractive dish.

The specialties of Da crab that the Thuong River has favored for this land as an extremely valuable product. If you have the opportunity to return to Yen Dung in the right season of Da Da, do not forget to enjoy this delicious, strange and attractive dish!
Yen Dung is not only famous for Da crab specialties but it is also known for many other typical products such as aromatic rice, Canh Thuy rice cake, Tri Yen soy sauce, Ngoi village pottery, Lang Son fine art carpentry ... About With this land, visitors also have the opportunity to visit a number of cultural and ecological tourist attractions. Notably, such as: the special national monument of Vinh Nghiem pagoda, Tri Yen commune - the place to store the woodblocks of Buddhist scriptures recognized by UNESCO as a world memory documentary heritage, which is considered the ancestral place of Zen Buddhism Truc Lam Yen Tu; Meditation at Truc Lam Phuong Hoang, a scenic spot, integrates spiritual tourism with ecotourism on the Nham Bien mountain range in Nham Son commune. Or visitors can also visit the majestic mountains of Nham Bien with 99 large and small tops, intertwined. In addition, Yen Dung also has Kem pagoda (Nham Son commune), Thanh Nhan temple (Nham Son commune), Tran Thu Do temple (Yen Lu commune); Lu Phu communal house, pagoda, Nghe An commune…
